FamilySearch Tree APP for Android and iPhone

Your life is about to change! I LOVE THIS APP! It is a game changer!

This PowerPoint shows the App features on the iPhone and Android side-by-side. Tap and follow along on whatever device you have.

There are three ways for LDS to find Temple names with the App shown in this PDF which includes the new ORDINANCE READY feature.

At BYU Education Week 2017, Jim Green from FamilySearch spoke about the emphasis FamilySearch has put into this app. He reported that 65% of individuals in Latin America have cell phones with 50% of those being smartphones. People in developing countries have skipped desktop computers and have gone straight to cell phones and tablets. The trend in the US is going there also. With this in mind, I believe FamilySearch has put their brightest minds on App development.

The younger generation uses their cell phones for everything including casting to their TVs, interacting with Alexa, and turning on and off their house lights and electronics. With this in mind, it is natural to put family history where their life is and on something that is never far from their person.

Enter the ROBUST and CONVENIENT FamilySearch Tree App. When I show people the capabilities of the app the reaction is always surprise and amazement! It is no longer the simple App from their prior experience. It does basically everything only simpler, prettier, faster, and more fun. I turn to my phone even when I am on the desktop version because it is faster and easier.

When working with youth and young adults this is the only way to go! They only need to download the app to find temple names and explore their family stories and heritage in a tap.

For those identifying 4 Generations-4 Generations is what is shown on the home screen of your phone when the app opens. Our bishop has caught the vision and has encouraged our entire ward to download the app.

As a Temple and Family History Consultant, I can now help people anywhere at any time. All they have to do is pull out their phone. I really began investigating the app when I worked with three people in a row who didn't have anything but a phone or tablet. They really don't need a PC anymore!

When my grandchildren want to play on my phone I pull up the Family Tree App and show them pictures of themselves and their parents. They love it! Then I move on to their ancestors and tell them about them. Covertly introducing them to family history. Now, I periodically and strategically add photos to FamilySearch to turn their hearts and interest them. The "Little Family Tree" App is also great for fun games using the photos from your FamilySearch Tree.

Enjoy!
